SPIRIT TRAIL GALLERY ...
I wanted to knit a sweater combining a commercial yarn with my own hand-dyed yarn, to see what effect I could get. This sweater is knitted in a combination of Manos Del Uruguay yarn and Spirit Trail Fiberworks "Toci" Merino Yarn. I followed the Manos pattern for "Tango," which can be found in Manos' Design Source Collection 4 "Odyssey." I used approximately 500 yards of each yarn to knit a size medium/large. I changed the pattern with regard to what it called for in yarn (which was three different colors). I used 100% Manos for the cuffs, collar and bottom, and a combination of the Manos and my own yarn for the body (alternating yarns every two rows) of the sweater. I also knitted two rows of the varigated merino on the edge of the color for additional detail.

The following is a sweater for a friend, Jane, knitted in "Toci" Merino. I dyed the yarn for the body of the sweater in a "solidish" color carribean blue, and handpainted the varigated yarn for the trim.

A vest / hat combo for a friend's Baby:
Toddler Vest (Size 4-6) and Hat, knitted in "Toci" Merino
(with matching lady bug buttons). Approximately 350 yards for both.
Stay tuned for more beautiful creations!
